The Year Of The Witching

“The Year of the Witching,” a dark fantasy novel by Alexis Henderson, is set in a puritanical, theocratic society called Bethel, where women are expected to be subservient and men hold all the power. The protagonist, Immanuel Moore, is an outcast due to her mixed-race heritage and her mother’s suspected witchcraft. As she grapples with the secrets in the journal and the increasingly oppressive religious regime, she finds herself at the center of a series of plagues that threaten to destroy Bethel, forcing her to confront the hypocrisy and darkness within her society and ultimately decide if it’s worth saving.
